Pony and how He Changes

Ponyboy is a caring greaser, which has a good perspective on socs. Although he does this he hasn't always been like this. Throughout the book the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton he has changed greatly. I believe that Ponyboy has totally changed his opinion about socs, with the information I have you will definitely agree with me.

In the beginning of The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Pony Boy was a smart greaser pushed by his brother to do well in school. He despised the socs very much, and was in his neighborhood gang. He had the normal every day greaser life, but his opinion on the socs changes. Throughout the book The Outsiders, Pony Boy slowly changes his opinion on the socs. Although, in one of the opening scenes he gets jumped by socs his opinion will still change dramatically. After, he goes to the movies with his friend he picks up two soc girls Cherry and Marcia with his good friend Johnny. While they are taking them to two-bits to get them a car ride home. Ponyboy realizes that Cherry was easy to talk to. In addition to this scenario, after the tragic death of Cherry's boyfriend Bob, Ponyboy needs to go to trial for the hearing of his death. He realizes that Cherry is crying and he realizes that socs are just like greasers, but with more money and fancy cars.

Pony Boy has grown a lot in knowledge from start to finish in the Outsiders. From the beginning he was a wrong interpretation on the socs. Now, he understands that everyone the socs and the greasers are alike.
