Turtles, are very
awesome. They are one of my favorite
animals. They are slow and eat grass,
and have very boring life one might say.
But, not my imaginary friend turtle Fuzzywuzzy. Fuzzywuzz, was not like the ordinary turtle,
he had an exciting life, and was always there for me. Fuzzywuzzy was always one of my favorite
friends and will always be one of my best friends.

Symbolizm in "The Lottery"
Symbolism is basically in every short story, it can symbolizes life, and love, and even death. Especially in the short story "The Lottery" By Shirley Jackson. In this short story the symbolism mainly represent death. The black box is one of the main reasons why. When the box came into the story you could obviously realize that it meant something bad was coming, that's why when anyone saw it they stopped talking. Also, another example is the slip of paper with the black dot. This represents death, because whoever receives it will be executed. Meanwhile, the white slip can symbolize being safe, or pure.

Oh Gummy Bears!
Oh gummy bears you are so yummy
I want you in my tummy
You are so delicious
although you aren't nutritious
I can't resist you because your awesome
therefore, I want to eat more some
you are so fat
I would die for you and give up my stuffed cat
Oh gummy bears
you I would never share
I would make you mine, but that would be weird
When I see you I turn rabid and I am much feared
I want you in my tummy
You are so delicious
although you aren't nutritious
I can't resist you because your awesome
therefore, I want to eat more some
you are so fat
I would die for you and give up my stuffed cat
Oh gummy bears
you I would never share
I would make you mine, but that would be weird
When I see you I turn rabid and I am much feared

Response to Mother to Son by Langston Hughes
Authors note: This is a response to word choice and context on the writing rubric used in this peom.
Mother to Son by Langston Hughes is quite an interesting piece. It tells us how to persevere and get through the tough times. It also shows us great figurative language. One of the examples is "Life for me ain't been no crystal stair." This metaphor means that the mother's life has been very difficult. This is only one of the many that this short poem uses to symbolize how hard your life can be, and also to never give up.

* Authors Note: This is a piece to describe someone in my novel. My novel was the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. The person is Grover satyr.
The sound of hooves echoes throughout the hallways. It gets closer and closer until it reaches our door. You can already smell the wretched smell from whatever it might be. It walked through the door, and everybody looked up from their work and screamed. It was half goat half man. He had bad acne, and was very very hairy. He seemed peaceful, but everyone seemed to be frightened. Then, I realized he looked familiar. Oh yeah! It was Grover from the Lightning Thief series.

Letter to Percy
Dear Percy,
I am unfortunately sending you this letter to tell you that you have another quest. Unfortunately it will be defeating something that you probably won’t want to do. Luke as you know has gone bad. I want you, Grover, and Annabeth to go hunt him down. I know that you might be tired from your previous quest, but we need you guys now. Percy, Luke is threatening to break free the titan god Cronus, and overthrow Mt. Olympus. Also he was the one who took the lightning bolt. He is evil, sneaky, and very well trained. If you find him destroy him or capture him, but if he were to reach Cronus and free him. The world will be destroyed. I wish you good luck in your next quest, and may the gods be with you.
Best of luck,
Chiron

The Effect of Parents
Just imagine having a family that always seems to do something right or drastically wrong. Well this is the life of Percy Jackson in the book the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. I believe that Percy’s parents affect his everyday life.
His parents definitely affect his school learning. His real dad Poseidon really messes it up. As a Demi-God or Half-blood Percy receives ADHD from his dad which helps him battle. Also from his dad gives dyslexia which helps him read Greek better. In addition his mom sends him to private schools so he never sees her. However, now he concentrates less on school work, because he is always thinking about his mom
In addition to learning his mom and dad also affect the setting. His dad Poseidon makes the setting change drastically; because of fights from his ADHD he gets kicked out of many schools and ends up in Yancy Academy where he meets Grover. Also, he goes to camp half-blood which protects him from monsters. If it weren’t for his dad he would have never been to this camp.
Percy Jackson has had a long struggle throughout the story the Lightning Thief. He has endured monsters and even Hades himself. It may not seem like it, but his family played a big role. Without his mom marrying Gabe, and sending him to camp half-blood Percy would had never survived. This is why I believe that Percy Jackson’s parents play a big role in the Lightning Thief.
